Planning a party? Have you thought about buying a polypin direct from the brewery?
A polypin is simply 'Beer in a Box'. Or to be more precise, 'beer in a bag in a box'. It's
just like wine in a box, but it's beer, and it is the perfect way to serve real ale to your
guests.
We have four sizes for sale. 5ltrs, 10 ltrs, 20 ltrs & 40 ltrs.
40 ltrs is actually 9
gallons (a firkin or 72 pints) and should you want this amount it will come in
a proper steel cask as opposed to a box.
All we ask is for 48 hours notice,
and that if you do order a cask, that you return it.
All beer is 'racked brite' (We carefully remove all the yeast, using very
small tweezers) so that you don't have to let the beer stand for a few hours before
drinking it. Take it home, put it on a table & drink!
Some breweries will have you believe that beer in a box lasts for a week or two un-opened and
will then last a week once opened. However, we believe that for the best results:
- Beer in a Box: Buy the beer on either the day or the day before it is intended to be
drunk. Then consume it within two days of it being opened.
- Cask: Will keep several weeks un-opened, but then consume within a week once opened.
We believe you won't find such quality ales on offer anywhere near these prices.
(Actually, "We KNOW" these prices can't be beaten, because we have done the leg work,
so you won't have to.)
